EMAG

Organised by the Institute of Physics's Electron Microscopy and Microanalysis Group (EMAG), the EMAG conference in 2015 will for the first time be part of The Royal Microscopical Society's Microscience Microscopy Congress (MMC2015).

Will it still be EMAG?

Yes! It will still have all the established EMAG traditions – including

  • Three days of talks each with two parallel sessions covering various electron microscopy themes in the life and physical sciences.
  • Lively poster sessions.
  • Published proceedings with full papers peer reviewed during the meeting.
  • An impressive list of world class EMAG invited speakers.
  • Plenty of social activities with opportunities to catch up with old friends and to make new ones.

So what's the catch?

No catch. By being part of mmc2015 the EMAG2015 conference will

  • Boast a larger than usual trade exhibition of microscopy and imaging equipment, with an expected one hundred companies demonstrating the widest range of equipment and consumables.
  • Benefit from the opportunities for interaction and cross disciplinary discussions with participants from other complementary meetings occurring simultaneously in the same venue including Scanning Probe Microscopy and BioImaging UK.
  • Have links with more workshops and training events than were possible with a stand-alone EMAG, as well as opportunities for participants to contribute to the RMS International Scientific Imaging Competitions.
  • EMAG Conference Chair for 2015 is Cate Ducati (University of Cambridge). Speakers and sponsors to be announced in late 2014.
